I'm Anie and I'll be sharing with you some of the adventures in my household through this blog. It could be anything really. Food, kids, crafts, DIY and more; I'm a busy gal so I have a lot to share. But first, a little about me.
My darling husband is a truck driver and is gone most of the week leaving me in charge of our two wonderful kids, Manny & Missy. Our Jack Russell, Suzie, rounds out our household. I'm creative and use my skills in many ways. From making food fun for the kids, to keeping them entertained throughout the day and enticing them to do their chores, my day is full and I usually crash into bed at night. And I wouldn't trade it for a million bucks. My weekly schedule isn't consistent {blame a baby not sleeping through the night, playdates and Daddy's schedule} but there are a few things that are consistent: the kids need to eat, clothes need washed and I need to start my day with coffee and prayer. Everything else is subject to change with a phone call, a baby cry or a child's whine.
I have a few hobbies that I can easily lose track of time doing; mainly photography and scrapbooking. I don't get to do too much of either but I fit it in as I can. Manny received his own camera recently so we are getting out to do some picture-taking together everywhere we can. We then print his pictures for his scrapbook that we "read" together at bedtime. I'm sure he'll soon be sitting down with me to scrapbook his photos into a real album with real embellishments and stamps but for now, we spend his allowance on photo paper. Most of my photography is of my kids and some for my blogs (I also write at LavenderSage Designs) but I love how it has elevated my scrapbook pages because the photos are more artistic and in line with my overall creative design.
My goal with this blog is to share my day to day life. I'm not special, I'm probably just like you. In fact, I'm sure of it. My counters are clean but the floor is dirty. The kids are laughing, the dog is fed and the laundry is in a mixed up pile. There's always some chore to do but I will usually choose to make my kids smile. I'm a bit of a push-over that way. I figure they're going to remember me playing with them, not sorting the laundry.
There will be a method to my madness here as I've found it helps to have a plan, even if it goes awry later. Mondays I'll share my menu for the week. Tuesdays I'll feature a tip I've discovered (which isn't to say you don't know about it already, just that I hadn't previously). Wednesday will be some sort of DIY. Thursday I'll have some thought to share with you and Friday I'll post a photo that relates to the week. Each month with have a theme or form to it to help me form my thoughts but as with anything in my life, things may change. But that's the plan for now.
And since it's Monday, let me get started officially with ...
